El Conjunto, la m\u00fasica tradicional del sur de Texas, se remonta a finales del siglo XIX.<\/strong> Los colonos europeos llegaron al \u00e1rea con sus acordeones de botones y comenzaron a %22hacer m\u00fasica%22 con los colonos mexicanos, quienes prefer\u00edan el bajo sexto (una guitarra baja de seis cuerdas tradicionalmente utilizada en la m\u00fasica norte\u00f1a). El resultado fue m\u00e1gico y se convirti\u00f3 en el sonido caracter\u00edstico del sur de Texas, particularmente en San Antonio.<\/p>\n

El Conjunto Heritage Taller (CHT)<\/strong> es una organizaci\u00f3n comunitaria dedicada a la preservaci\u00f3n y perpetuaci\u00f3n de la m\u00fasica tradicional de Conjunto a trav\u00e9s de la ense\u00f1anza. CHT ofrece clases gratuitas de acorde\u00f3n y bajo sexto para la comunidad, adem\u00e1s de brindar a sus estudiantes oportunidades para participar y presentarse en varios eventos y festivales a lo largo del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Los estudiantes del CHT han participado en eventos como el Tejano Conjunto Festival<\/strong>, el Texas Folklife Festival<\/strong>, el International Accordion Festival<\/strong>, el King William Parade<\/strong>, as\u00ed como en actividades comunitarias como el National Night Out<\/strong> y otros eventos. Estas presentaciones divertidas y llenas de energ\u00eda ofrecen a los estudiantes la oportunidad de mostrar sus talentos y logros, al mismo tiempo que permiten a los visitantes y residentes experimentar y apreciar la m\u00fasica folcl\u00f3rica tradicional de la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Conjunto \u2014 the traditional music of South Texas \u2014 dates back to the end of the 19th century. European settlers moved into the area with their button accordions. They began \u2018making music\u2019 with Mexican settlers who favored the bajo sexto (a lower sixth bass guitar traditionally used in Norte\u00f1o music). The results were magical and became the signature sound of South Texas \u2014 particularly San Antonio.<\/p>\n

The Conjunto Heritage Taller (CHT) is a community-based organization dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation by providing instruction of traditional Conjunto music. CHT offers free\/no-cost accordion and bajo sexto classes to the community, and it offers opportunities to its students to participate and perform in several events and festivals throughout the year. CHT students have performed at the Tejano Conjunto Festival, the Texas Folklife Festival, the International Accordion Festival, the King William Parade, and at community National Night Out and other events. These fun and lively performances give students a chance to showcase their talents and accomplishments and allow visitors and residents to experience and appreciate the traditional folk music of the region.<\/p>\n
