Our Board

Queta Rodriguez is a dynamic leader with over 27 years of experience in leadership, management, and community engagement. Currently serving as the National Operations Director for FourBlock, a nonprofit supporting veterans, Queta oversees organizational strategy, program expansion, and employer partnerships. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing strategic partnerships and expanding the nonprofit’s presence in Texas and beyond.

Queta’s career began with a 20-year tenure in the U.S. Marine Corps, where she held various leadership roles and was selected for a competitive program to transition from enlisted to officer ranks. During her service, she managed large teams, developed personnel policies, and supported thousands of Marines and civilians in critical operations worldwide.

Her civilian career includes serving as Director of Veterans Services for Bexar County, Texas, where she transformed the department into a model program, improving services for over 250,000 veterans and their families. Fluent in Spanish and known for her innovative approach to problem-solving, Queta has earned a reputation as a skilled leader and advocate for veterans and underserved communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.

Alfonso Cabañas is an experienced attorney based in San Antonio, Texas. He founded Cabañas Law Firm, PLLC in 2007, specializing in state and federal litigation, with a focus on felony cases throughout Texas and federal offenses nationwide. Before starting his firm, Alfonso worked at Demetrio Duarte, Jr. & Associates, where he gained experience in civil and criminal litigation.

He earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2006, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and a champion in the External Advocacy Program. Alfonso also holds a double major in Economics and International Business from Baylor University, where he was recognized for academic excellence.

Alfonso has held leadership positions in several organizations, including Vice President of the Texas Young Lawyers’ Association and President of St. Mary’s Hispanic Law Alumni. His dedication has earned him awards such as TYLA’s Outstanding Director of the Year.

In addition to his legal work, Alfonso is committed to community service, contributing to causes like domestic abuse awareness and voter education. Outside of his career, he enjoys staying active through fitness and soccer coaching, and is currently learning Italian.
